The day of the festival of Pentecost

2 Now while the day of the [festival of] Pentecost {1} was in progress they were all together at the same place, ² and suddenly there occurred from heaven a noise just like that of a rushing stiff breeze, and it filled the whole house in which they were sitting.{2} ³ And tongues as if of fire {3} became visible to them and were distributed about, and one sat upon each one of them, ⁴ and they all became filled with holy spirit {4} and started to speak with different tongues,{5} just as the spirit was granting them to make utterance.

{1} (Leviticus 23:16): ¹⁶ To the day after the seventh sabbath YOU should count, fifty days,+ and YOU must present a new grain offering+ to Jehovah.

Into these very things angels are desiring to peer.*+

{5} (Acts 10:46): ⁴⁶ For they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God.+ Then Peter responded:

(1 Corinthians 12:10): ¹⁰ to yet another operations of powerful works,*+ to another prophesying,+ to another discernment+ of inspired utterances,*+ to another different tongues,+ and to another interpretation+ of tongues.
