Matthew 21:4-5 – “Your King Is Coming upon a Donkey!”

MT21:4 This actually happened[1] so that what was spoken through the prophet [Zechariah][2] might be fulfilled when he said, MT21:5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, saying, Look! Your meek King is coming to you mounted on a donkey and a colt, foal of a beast of burden.” [Zechariah 9:9]

[2] The prophet [Zechariah]: The quote is from Zechariah 9:9. The Jewish LXX foretells, “riding on an ass, and a young foal.” The young donkey rides closely side by side its mother.
