|| Matthew 9:18-26
MK5:38 Now Jesus arrived at the house of the synagogue leader and saw all the confusion of all those weeping and wailing. MK5:39 So when he entered he told them all: “Why so much noisy commotion and weeping? The little girl is not dead but sleeping.” MK5:40 And they all laughed scornfully at him. However, when Jesus had them all put outside, he took the father and mother of the young girl and with them and his disciples entered the room where the young girl was lying. MK5:41 Then Jesus took the young girl by her hand and said to her: “Talitha cumi!” (which when translated means, “Little girl I tell you to get up.”) MK5:42 Instantly the little girl rose and walked about, for she was twelve years of age. Now everyone was awe-struck with great amazement. MK5:43 Then Jesus strictly charged them not to tell anyone about what had happened, and also commanded that she should be given something to eat.
 Jesus took the young girl by her hand: The touching of a dead body made the offender ceremonially unclean under the Law of Moses. [Leviticus 21:11; 22:4; Numbers 6:6, 11]
 Talitha cumi: Hebrew [or, Aramaic], the native tongue of Jesus. Mark writes to Romans who read and speak Greek and Latin.
