Mark 11:15-18 – Temple Cleanings Causes Opposition
|| Matthew 21:12, 13, 17;[1] Luke 19:45-48
MK11:15 Now when they arrived in Jerusalem Jesus went into the Temple courtyard. He started throwing out those who bought and sold in the Temple courtyard. He upset the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold doves. MK11:16 And Jesus would not allow any person to carry a vessel across the Temple courtyard. MK11:17 Then he began to teach,[2] telling them: “Is it not written: ‘My House will be called a House of Prayer among all the non-Jews’? [Isaiah 56:7] But you have made it a den of robbers!” [Jeremiah 7:11] MK11:18 Now when the Bible Copyists and chief priests heard this they began to seek a way to destroy Jesus.
