Nog een jaartje 14 Nisan met beperkte toegang

Twee jaar zijn onze diensten niet lijfelijk kunnen door gaan. Gelukkig hadden wij Zoom en Jitsi om via het internet onze leden te bereiken.

Maanden zijn Bijbelstudenten er van weerhouden langs de huizen te gaan om het Goede Nieuws te brengen. Zoals vorig jaar zijn er ook dit jaar geen folders in de brievenbussen gedaan om mensen uit te nodigen voor de 14 Nisan viering. Ook dit jaar zal dat hoogtepunt van het kerkelijk jaar een dag in een zekere vorm van stilte of ingetogenheid zijn. Maar voor het eerst in lange tijd zullen onze gedoopte leden, in beperkte getallen, elkaar ook kunnen aantreffen in de Koninkrijkszaal, deze vrijdagavond om 20.15 uur (in het Engels). Vanuit de zaal zal ook voor de gedoopte leden het mogelijk zijn die gedachtenisviering op het net via een videostream te volgen.

Spijtig genoeg, moeten wij voor de veiligheid te voorzien, omdat wij zo dikwijls worden aangevallen, de toegang tot de dienst via het internet beperken tot hen die wij goed kennen en familieleden die bij de gedoopten aanwezig zijn. Niet gedoopten op hun eigen kunnen dus spijtig genoeg dit jaar nog niet meedoen aan dit hoogtepunt van het jaar.

Maar wij hebben goede hoop dat stilaan in de komende maanden de toestand rond Covid zal verbeteren en dat wij dan ook over enkele maanden (na de zomer) weer gewoon tezamen zullen komen in de Ecclesia-hal, bijbelstudieruimte en/of Koninkrijkszaal.

Enkele nieuwe websites om mensen tot God te brengen

Helpende websites om voor te bereiden op de laatste dagen

Wanneer u weet of denkt dat we dichter bij de Laatste Dagen komen kan u misschien beseffen welk belang het heeft om een doorgezette prediking te voeren.

Voor de prediking kan men huis aan huis gaan, maar dan krijgt men wel meer de deur dicht gegooid in de neus. Ook komt het niet altijd gelegen wanneer wij aanbellen. Makkelijker is om steeds een open deur naar de mensen aan te bieden wanneer zij maar willen kijken of luisteren. Met het internet krijgen wij zulk een prachtig medium aangeboden waarbij mensen op het ogenblik dat zij willen van alles kunnen lezen. Maar dan moet het natuurlijk voor hen ter beschikking en vindbaar zijn op het wereldwijde net. daarom is het ook erg belangrijk indien er bepaalde websites zijn om mensen tot God te brengen dat anderen deze kenbaar maken aan de mensen rondom hen. Indien meerdere mensen het woord verspreiden kunnen ook meerdere mensen er van horen en het weten te vinden.

Nu wij moeilijkere tijden tegemoet zullen gaan kan het fijn zijn als mensen een plekje weten te vinden waar zij soelaas kunnen vinden. Het kan interessant zijn om enige troost te kunnen aanbieden aan anderen door hen zulke plekjes van troost kenbaar te maken. Ook wij willen helpen in het aanbieden van materiaal om zich zelf sterk genoeg te maken om de komende problemen te kunnen weerstaan. Om jezelf immuun tegen de tegenstander van de wereld zijn Schepper te maken, zijn drie Nederlandstalige websites gecreëerd met daarnaast twee-eiige tweelingbroertjes in het Engels.

Ieder van hen zijn gericht op mensen die op zoek zijn naar God en/of gericht zijn op degenen die op zoek zijn naar het opbouwen van een goede relatie met God, de Goddelijke Schepper, met Zijn zoon, en in harmonie met Zijn schepping te komen.

Het is niet altijd gemakkelijk om op te staan tegen de behandeling van deze kapitalistische en over-consumerende hele wereld, maar we kunnen ons harnas en elkaar helpen om sterk in de komende tijden van verleiding en oproer zijn.

De mens kan God niet zien en leven (Exodus 33:20), maar we geloven dat de mens een zeer goede relatie met deze onzichtbare God kan opbouwen. Ook al mag Die God boven alle goden, voor veel mensen in de wereld nog een onbekende God zijn en willen velen in onze contreien niet over Hem weten, moeten wij het toch tot onze taak nemen om Zijn Naam te verspreiden. Daarom zouden we graag meer mensen deze liefdevolle God, die wil een liefdevolle vreedzame relatie met Zijn schepselen te hebben, leren kennen . “Met betrekking tot God” of “Relating to God” en de relatie met God – blog “Relating to God – Blog” willen een idee geven hoe mensen op zoek kunnen gaan naar God, hoe er toe te zien om de juiste weg in het leven in te slaan om op de juiste manier God te vinden, en hoe een degelijke sterke band met de mensen om ons heen met Jezus Christus, de zoon van God en met God op te bouwen, zodat de hemelse Vader blij met ons kan zijn.

Ons leven is beperkt in de tijd en het is van cruciaal belang om het beste van te maken. De vijf nieuwe websites zullen proberen om hun lezers te laten zien hoe we in staat zijn om het beste van ons leven te maken en hoe we een nog beter leven in de toekomst kunnen waarborgen.

De Nederlandse websites de vormen met elkaar een drieluik. Als een driemaster wil het door de drukke en woelige wateren van dit systeem der tijden en dingen varen en mensen naar de veilige haven brengen die er klaar ligt voor iedereen die tot God wil te komen en Hem toebehoren.

De eerste component van de Nederlandstalige sites is speciaal gemaakt voor degenen die niet veel over God weten en zich afvragen of Hij wel bestaat en wat Hij voor ons kan doen. Omdat het voor degenen die op zoek zijn naar Waarheid en God is ontworpen, heeft het de toepasselijke titel “Op zoek naar God“.

De tweede component wil laten zien dat er in deze wereld verschillende wegen voor ons liggen maar dat het aan ons is om de juiste wegen in te slaan. We kunnen kiezen uit vele paadjes, voet-, auto- en en snelwegen, maar welke wij best kiezen om onze bestemming te bereiken ligt hier voor. Alsook wordt er de vraag gesteld welke bestemming je wil bereiken?

De weg naar God (The Way to God; 2° component of triptych)

Met ‘De Weg naar God ” willen we laten zien dat de Nazarener rabbi Jeshua (Jezus Christus) de weg is die we moeten volgen om God te kunnen bereiken. Deze tweede component wordt (gedeeltelijk) geïntegreerd in de “Relating to God” (Met betrekking tot God) sites (maar dan in het Engels).

God vinden – Gereedsschapspagina (Tools page of Finding God)

Als laatste deel in het drieluik kunt u “God Vinden” aantreffen. Dit derde deel pakt de belangrijke kwestie van het vinden van God aan en overschouwd hoe wij kinderen van God moeten zijn en hoe wij ons moeten verhouden in het bondgenootschap met God. De daar besproken onderwerpen gesproken maken ook deel uit van de “Met betrekking tot God” of “Relating to God” sites.

Wij geloven dat alle mensen in staat moeten zijn om de stem van God te horen, Zijn wonderwerken te zien, en Zijn Woorden te vinden om deze en Hem die ze voorzien heeft gemakkelijk te begrijpen. Daarom willen wij het goede nieuws van het komende Koninkrijk verkondigen op het internet om zoveel mogelijk mensen te bereiken. De nieuwe websites moeten hiertoe een bijdrage leveren.

Degenen die Waarheid en God, kennen en liefhebben, moeten degenen zijn die bereid zijn om mee te helpen om de goede boodschap te verspreiden. Ook u kan helpen om het goede nieuws te verspreiden door toezending van onze boodschappen en door hen aardig te vinden en ze te delen op de sociale media, zodat meer mensen met deze teksten kunnen geconfronteerd worden.

Als u het schrijven u niet bepaalt ligt, hoeft u geen artikelen zelf te schrijven, maar dat neemt niet weg dat u niet artikelen van anderen zou kunnen doorzenden naar anderen.  Ook al heb je geen pennenkriebels hoef je niet te denken dat je niet zou kunnen helpen in het predikingswerk. Het Woord verder te laten rondgaan in de wereld is onderdeel van onze predikingstaak die door Jezus werd opgedragen aan zijn volgelingen.  Door de teksten van die nieuwe websites en van reeds bestaande websites aan anderen kenbaar te maken kan u ook mee getuigen.

Met deze vijf nieuwe websites van de Belgische Christadelphians wordt de hoop uitgesproken om het Evangelie tot nog meer mensen te brengen. Waar je ook bent, welke taal je ook maar spreekt, kun je anderen in contact brengen met die websites, zodat ze meer materiaal te lezen en te onderzoeken krijgen alsook om hen te helpen om de Heilige Schrift beter te begrijpen.

Mogen wij rekenen op u, studenten van de Bijbel en iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in God, om het bestaan van deze nieuwe websites en de reeds bestaande ouder websites te delen aan mensen om ook hen in een goede relatie met God, Jezus en elkaar te brengen?

Helping websites to prepare for the last days

When you know or think we could be coming closer to the Last Days it can be interesting to have some comfort in helping material to make yourself strong enough to withstand the coming troubles. To make yourself immune against the adversary of the world its Creator, two new websites in English and three in Dutch came unto the market.

All of them are directed to those people who are looking for God and/or are aiming at those who are looking to build up a good relationship with God, the Divine Creator and to come in harmony with His creation.

It is not always easy to stand up against the treatment of this capitalist and over-consuming world, but we can armour us and help each other to be strong in the coming times of temptation and of uproar.

Relating to God (Weebly website) About page

Man can not see God and live (Exodus 33:20), but we do believe man can have a very good relation with this unseen God, Who is for many people in the world also an unknown God. Therefore we would love to get more people to know this loving God who wants to have a loving peaceful relationship with His creatures. “Relating to God” and Relating to God – blog” want to give an idea how to look for God, how to see and to take the right way to God, how to find God and how to make such a strong connection with the people around us, Jesus Christ, the son of God and with God so that the heavenly Father may be pleased with us.

Our life is limited in time and it is crucial to make the best of it. The five new websites shall try to show their readers how we are able to make the best of our life and how we can ensure an even better life in the future.

The Dutch websites together are forming a triptych. As a three-master it wants to sail trough heavy waters of this system of times and things and bring people into the safe harbour which is prepared for all who want to come to God.

Op zoek naar God – 1° Component of the triptych about looking for God and the way to Him to come into a good relationship.

The first component is especially created for those who do not known much about God and wonder if He exists and what He can do for us. Being for those who are looking for God it has the appropriate title “Op zoek naar God” (Looking for God). The second component wants to show that in this world we do have different roads in front of us. We can choose out of many highways, but which one do we best choose to reach our destination? And which destination do you want to reach?

De weg naar God (The Way to God; 2° component of triptych)

With “De Weg naar God” (The Way to God) we want to show that the Nazarene rabbi Jeshua (Jesus Christ) is the way to God we should follow. This second component shall (for parts) also be integrated in the “Relating to God” sites (but than in English).

God vinden – Gereedsschapspagina (Tools page of Finding God)

As final part in the triptych you may find “God vinden” (Finding God), which shall tackle the important matter of finding God and to make an ally with God. The subjects spoken off there shall also be spoken off at the “Relating to God” sites.

We believe all people should be able to hear the Voice of God and find His Words to read easily. Therefore we want to proclaim the Good News of the coming Kingdom on the internet to reach as many people as possible. Those who know and love God already should be the ones who help to spread the Good Message. You too, can help to spread the good news by forwarding our messages and by liking them and sharing them on social media so that more people may come confronted with them.

If you do not have the writing pen in you, you do not have to think you can not help in the preaching work. Getting word around is part of our preaching work you can do as well. Witnessing comprehends the sharing of the material available to come to more knowledge. With those five new websites the Belgian Christadelphians do hope to bring the Gospel message to even more people. Wherever you are, whichever language you speak, you can bring others in contact with those websites so that they may find more material to read and to examine and to help them to comprehend the Holy Scriptures.

May we count unpon you, students of the Bible and all those interested in God, to share the existence of those new websites and the already existing and older websites to bring people in a good relationship with God, Jesus and each other?

Mits de website van de Vereniging voor Bijbelstude zal worden opgegeven willen wij toch nog enkele artikelen bewaren voor het nageslacht en ons eigen archief.

First article for the opening of the WordPress site of the Belgian Bible Students – Eerste artikel bij de opening van de WordPress site van de Belgische Bijbel Studenten

De Belgian Biblestudents of Belgische Bijbelstudenten waren midden van 2010 over gegaan om zich meer kenbaar te maken. Hiertoe leek het Wereldwijde Internet de ideale manier. Op 2 Juli 2010 brachten zij Getuigen voor God en Christus op de Microsoft Networks Space van Bible Students from Belgium Bijbelstudenten uit België – Windows Live Space .

Nu zijn zij echter geconfronteerd geworden dat deze wijze van publiceren via Windows Live opgeheven wordt. Daarom hebben zij ook de overstap gewaagd naar de update en verandering naar  WordPress.  Nu blijkt echter dat de teksten die op  Windows Live Space  waren geplaatst niet automatisch konden overgebracht worden op het nieuwe platform. Hiertengevolge moeten wij al de teksten nu manueel overbrengen welk nog een tijdje in beslag zal nemen.

Graag wensen wij al de lezers van dit platform ook al uit te nodigen op onze pagina’s. Iedereen is welkom bij  de Belgische/Belgian Biblestudents: Belgian Biblestudents – Belgische Bijbelstudenten .

“Vele kerken” one of the first articles by the opening of the WordPress site Belgian Bible Students – Tussen de “Vele kerken” konden de Belgische Bijbelstudenten sinds 2011 op een WordPress site de mensen aanspreken

De komende dagen zullen wij een beeld trachten te scheppen van de reden waarom er zo veel verschillende kerken zijn en waarom doorheen de geschiedenis van het Christendom er steeds mensen waren die er de voorkeur aan gaven zich enkel te houden aan het Woord van God in plaats aan de vele geschriften die er doorheen de geschiedenis ontstonden rond religie en God. Wij zullen laten zien waarom er veel theologen de verkeerde kant uitgingen en zand in de ogen strooiden van vele mensen.

Voor hen die werkelijk willen te weten komen wat God van hen verlangt is het niet slecht om te beseffen wat er door de eeuwen heen verkeer is gegaan en waar de klepel hangt.

De Belgische Bijbelstudenten hopen met hun overzicht van de Geschiedenis van het Christendom en de Christenheid een beeld te scheppen van de positie van de student van de Bijbel.

Dus kijk de komende dagen uit naar artikels over de invloeden van de Hellenisten, Renaissance, de Hervormingsbeweging, Campbell, Thomas, Russell en andere op Belgian Biblestudents – Belgische Bijbelstudenten.

Radio calls and booklets

Today the Jehovah Witnesses are the biggest known Bible Student Group in Belgium. At first they could find Bible Students groups associating with them and start growing from the previous preparations of those groups. But they too had to see members leaving them.

As result of the broadcastings in the mid 20° century, in French and sponsored by the Brethren of Dawn from the U.S; 3 Belgian families were interested in the Present Truth. It was Brother Armand Lechien who got in touch with Brother Félix Pilarski through the mail service of Radio Luxemburg: Brother Félix aimed him towards Jumet. These 3 families left the movement they were members of (the Jehovah Witnesses) because they thought the teachings they heard were not in harmony

with the Scriptures. The Polish-Belgian Brother and Sister Wlodarski had got French brethren and sisters in their circles and found more brethren from the French Association des étudiants de la Bible coming more and more frequently to serve the Word of God (brother François Wozniak, Kosmalski A. Liszka, T. Kubiak, J., Osorowski S.,TF et Ed. Pilarski, Speil, a few from Saint Etienne and many others …..); the family Kula, their younger daughter and one son attended the meetings, in the following years just like in France, pilgrim brethren came from the United States and later from Poland.

The families – Armand et Louise Lechien – Ernest et Helena Duchateau –  Edmond et Jeanne Henrioule decided to have meetings during the week (on Wednesday and Thursday) to study the Figures of the Tabernacle. With their agreement, the families Wlodarski and Kula joined them. The studies were held in two languages with the help of a translator (2 languages were spoken French and Polish).

Brother Félix Pilarski and other brethren worked a lot for these meetings because they spoke French perfectly.

Brother Félix Pilarski made a handsome contribution to the development of the meeting of Courcelles with edifying biblical discourses and his visits. He was also personally active in the country of Liège and in Brussels where he had a deposit of booklets. Other brethren also paid many visits; among them we can mention Brother Joseph Wozniak, Adolphe Debski, and others.

After Brother Ernest Duchateau died suddenly, meetings continued for some time. When Brother Lechien died after a quite long disease, we could see a repetitive thing around the house churches, the ecclesia of Courcelles disappeared in the mid 70’s.

Former town hall of Jumet, where the film “Why did He come to earth?” of the Bible Students was given.

On October 24th 1987, the ecclesia of Jumet organised two projections of the film “Why did He come to earth?” in the community City Hall of Charleroi. Those shows were announced with advertising: posters in public places, advertising in the city with loudspeakers, spots on local newspapers radio and TV, display on electronic screens, distribution of leaflets.

More than hundred persons attended these film projections. Leaflets and tracts were given to the participants but only few asked for further information and other booklets.

Soothed to sleep with man’s talk

Very soon in history the majority in Christendom went running after the false teachers. The myths were more pleasing to the ear than the actual truth. They were soothed to sleep with it. Early on the Brothers, as true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, were in the minority. Their faith of the true gospel was of ‘origin’ pure, by the human impurities it was swung back and forth by the years gone.

In Belgium and the Netherlands remained Bible Faithful following Jesus’ command and continued preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.
The first nor the second world war had kept them from it, even though many of them were anxiously looking forward to the action of the two warring camps, because they were against fighting, and because they adhered to a faith that was not liked by anyone.

That Jesus and his apostles spoke about the news that there would be established a Kingdom on earth, that would be ruled by Jesus Christ and in which the faithful of all ages would have a place alongside their Lord: i.e. as co-rulers, this sounded obviously not fine in the ears for them (the German Fuehrer wished to be the only ruler). But the cheerful message for humanity survived now the fight under people and brought unprecedented peace in some families.

The doctrine of Christ’s reign on earth was first treated as highly symbolic, gradually became labelled as a very questionable and useless thought and was ultimately rejected as an absurd invention of heresy and fanaticism.
God’s light happily extinguishes not; it is an eternal flame. The people of Israel in ancient times also reached detritus. They even served other gods. Nevertheless, there remain at this time believers in the One God and history now could repeat itself. Faithful to God those bible students wanted to share their findings and in spite the continuous opposition dared to go against the most popular doctrine of men.

Getting a base in Holland

After attempts from the Netherlands were made to bring Truth to England (in the 16th Century) and having a flight of truth seekers to the New World in the 19th century, now letters of truth seekers from the New World could again send truth to Europe.

The teachings of Elias Smith and John Thomas now, the time was ripe, an opportunity was given to a ‘resurgence‘ of Bible Faithful. They also found their way across the ocean and in all English-speaking countries they could find a foothold.

Through the centuries, the Gospel of God’s Kingdom, which was preached by Jesus and the apostles, showed a dynamic force which has all the opposition of powerful religious groups defied and still serves as the sole basis of faith for those who want to search God.

In 1956 in the Netherlands finally the group of Brothers in Christ could get solid and communities as “de Broeders in Christus“, arose in Den Haag (The Hague), Amersfoort, Ede and Groningen.

From 1957 officially recognised, seeing it as our duty to our Lord to make his name known among the people in our area, as well as among other nations, they made work of it to go around billing leaflets. They kept their focus on the Bible as the source of all knowledge and followed the guiding principle of the word of our Lord, “Freely ye have received, freely give.” They also began to spread the magazine “Met Open Bijbel” (With Open Bible) of which Rudolf Rijkeboer was the driving force.

Vanishing interest

It clearly appeared that after the ‘golden age’ with the children boom and citizens of Belgium having their life becoming better, the interest for the biblical message of Truth is vanishing with time passing on.

The Bible Students saw their number of members in ecclesiae decreasing.The visiting brethren and sisters from the Christadelphian Bible Mission (CBM) for 25 years made regular visits to put leaflets and pamphlets in the postboxes. Their short visits trying to get people on the street interested in the works of Christ and in the promises of God, did not work out. At the time (early 21° Century) they wanted to give it all up and several Christadelphians left Holland to return to England or to go to Australia.

At the end of the 20° Century some Bible Students with ex-Jehovah Witnesses formed the Vrije Christenen or Free Christians. In that movement was also the non-trinitarian Baptist Marcus Ampe very active. Even before he himself became a Christadelphian he had already brought others to the Christadelphian faith. In Flemish Brabant and in Hainaut, plus on the net, with him, again an effort was made to bring the Good News of the coming Kingdom.

Last year brother Marcus tried to get several Bible Student groups together, but failed because of their will to have a certain power and the will to keep everything in control themselves. Plus some, like our confrères which we ourselves could not get over the bend to join the other Christadelphians in Belgium, made it impossible to have the different bible Students exchanging ideas, meeting sessions and information about their where-about and working. For our Australian brothers, of the Australian Bible Students, the CBM members were not close enough in following the teachings of brother Dr. John Thomas and mixing with the too loose teachings would dilute the whole system (they thought).

The man from the North and his organisation, have most of the Bible Students (except the JW) living in Belgian. But they resisted in giving the addresses of their ecclesiae in Oostende, Gent, (Brussels) and Antwerp. this made that the few but very active Christadelphians from Brussels, Leuven and Mons, could not meet with more Christadelphians in Belgium.

We too had to face the difficulty of bringing people together in peace and where confronted with a loss in our ranks, but our invitation is still open to join as members of the Body of Christ, united in the love of Christ.

We are convinced that our preaching work is important and that even when we do not reach so many people in Belgium, we do hope we can reach some others far away from us. We do hope that our voice may also sound in the darkness and bring some light to people we do not know, but who we do hope to meet in the Kingdom of God. We look forward to meet many new faces, happy to be under the Guidance of the Lord and not bounded by single people, but constructed on the cornerstone Jesus Christ.

Though we may have a different approach in organisation of services we do believe we all should go for the same truth and for the unification under Christ, by which each group might have a different name, but is willing to be united in spirit, sharing to build up and construct positively working to help each other entering the gate of the coming Kingdom.
