1 Samuel 25:29: 29  When man rises up to pursue you and look for your soul, the soul of my lord will certainly prove to be wrapped up in the bag of life with Jehovah your God; but, as for the soul of your enemies, he will sling it forth as from inside the hollow of the sling. / 29  When someone rises up to pursue you and seeks your life, the life of my lord will be wrapped securely in the bag of life with Jehovah your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl away like stones from a sling.

    O Jehovah, my God, the Supreme Being, I flee to you for protection.

    Free me, snatch me out of the tight place

    into which my pursuers press me.

    They will rip me to pieces unless I am rescued.

  • Jehovah – It is not just a name. (thechurchatcarrollton.wordpress.com)
    There is no better way to discover what God is like than to look at His names. Knowing Him is and should be the life long pursuit of every believer and the best way to get to know Him is to read and study what He has said about Himself.
  • Sing to the Lord (disciplesofhope.wordpress.com)
    There are people who express their emotions to their loved ones. People send letters, tweets and pictures to show it. Some even sing for the people they love. How much more must we express our love and gratitude to the Lord God who is worthy of being loved and adored forever?
  • Shout to the Lord! (mylovestorywithgod.wordpress.com)
    no matter what I was going through nothing in this life can take away or even compare to the promises he has made me.  Nothing can take away his glorious love and grace so if that’s all I have then I still have a reason to shout my praises to the Lord.
  • What is Your Song? (jofcc.wordpress.com)
    Each morning, we are given an opportunity to “shout joyfully to the Lord”. No, maybe not with our voices, but with our lives. How we live, how we speak, how we treat others is our daily worship song to the Lord. As you begin your day today, what is your song?

    Yet, we have a voice in His glory through all that we know of His creation.

    Come, let us sing to the Lord;
    let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.
    Let us come before God’s presence with thanksgiving;
    and raise to the Lord a shout with psalms.
    For the Lord is a great God;
    you are great above all gods.
  • Lord’s Day 50: The Only Source of Everything Good (urcpsalmody.wordpress.com)
    Contrary to our human instincts, the motivation for praying “Give us this day our daily bread” has nothing to do with worry.  Only a few verses after setting forth the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus directly tells his disciples, “Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on” (Matt. 6:25 ESV).  The point is not whether we will have “our daily bread”—we will—but that our eyes are turned in the right direction; that we understand that our heavenly Father is indeed “the only source of everything good.”
